Adopting from CTC
So you want to adopt from CTC? That's great! Here is how adoptions work with CTC.

1. We are primarily a foster-based rescue, meaning cats are fostered within private foster homes. We are also the rescue partner of two cat lounges: the Cats'N'At Cat Lounge in Wexford and the Whisker Wonderland Cat Lounge in Bellevue. See below for how the adoption process differs for cats in foster homes and cats at the cat lounge.

2. Fill out an Application - Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Adopters must consent to keep the cat indoors. Adopters must consent to never declaw. We perform property checks to verify homeownership and/or if tenants can have pets per the lease agreement. We will request medical records of your current pets to ensure they are up-to-date on vaccines, tested (if applicable), and fixed. To expedite the application process, you can email the records to conquerthecolony@gmail.com. Otherwise, we can contact your vet, please authorize access to your vet records upon applying.

3. All of our adoptable fosters are: spayed/neutered, rabies vaccinated, given FVRCP vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, combo tested for FIV/FeLV, and flea-treated. Our adopters also receive a free bag of Catalyst litter!

4. For cats that are fostered in a foster home, applicants must be approved before meeting the particular cat. We do this for the safety of our foster homes. Applications for cats in foster homes are processed by Conquer the Colony.
For cats that are fostered at the Cats'N'At Cat Lounge or Whisker Wonderland Cat Lounge, you can set up a time to meet the cats at any time. Applicants do not need to be approved before meeting the cats. The cat lounges process the applications for cats within their care.
Please visit their respective websites at catspgh.com or whiskerwonderlandcatlounge.com for more information on booking appointments.

5. Adoption Fee (for cats in foster homes ONLY - the cat lounges have different pricing structures. See their individual websites for more info):
All Cats are $140, regardless of age.
Persons over 65 years of age adopting cats over five years old: $100.

6. Once you have a successful meet and greet, the cat can go home with you! Please bring a carrier (or multiple carriers if you're doing a multiple cat adoption). We will go over the acclimation process. Adopters will fill out a contract electronically and receive the cat's medical records and microchip information. Payment is made through the contract portal or we can accept cash, PayPal, or Venmo.

7. Go home and enjoy your new family member!
